Kempner holding contest to pick new city slogan

The city of Kempner is seeking public participation in a competition to pick a new city slogan. Those who wish to participate in the contest should submit their slogan suggestion to the city by April 9 at 3:30 p.m. The Kempner City Council will vote on the new slogan April 13, and the contest winner will receive a $100 prize – which has been donated by a local citizen.

Church youth group spend spring break serving throughout community

While some Central Texas teenagers spent the weekend kicking off spring break at the nearest beach, a local church group banded together with other organizations to lend a hand. Under cloudy skies on Saturday, youth from First United Methodist Church in Lampasas got their hands dirty to build a wheelchair ramp for a local family.

Casino Night canceled

The Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center, Kiwanis Club of Lampasas and Lampasas Lions Club have announced they will cancel the 2021 Lampasas County Casino Night. “Casino Night is an important fundraiser and has been an event the community has come to enjoy each year,” Chamber Executive Director Melissa Unger said in a news release.

Concert at Putters & Gutters draws big crowd

Central Texas native Kyle Park plays for a packed house in a concert Saturday night at Putters & Gutters Fun Center. The 675 tickets sold were the most for a concert so far, said Deanna Juarez, who handles bookings for Putters & Gutters.
