LCRA employees get hands dirty while helping in Lampasas County

Kempner’s Sylvia Tucker Memorial Park and Lampasas’ W.M. Brook Park both received a small upgrade Friday, thanks to a group that took “a step forward.” Through its annual Steps Forward Day, Lower Colorado River Authority employees in 26 cities help complete projects like cleaning parks, improving playgrounds, painting park buildings and athletic field equipment, and improving landscaping with new plants and mulch.

Lampasas, neighboring cities connect in sustainability effort

Lampasas City Secretary Becky Sims joined with leaders from Fort Hood and neighboring cities on Thursday in an effort to continue making Central Texas a sustainable community. The group gathered at Monarch Park in Nolanville to renew a commitment to the Cen-Tex Sustainable Communities Partnership for an additional three years.

The Lampasas High School Theatre Department's performance of "Saint Frances of Hollywood" by Sally Clark has advanced to regionals in the University Interscholastic League One-Act Play competition, earning the cast and crew both district and bi-district honors.
