Lampasas Community Garden open house brings dozens to event

Despite the cold, wet weather on Saturday, dozens of residents went to Campbell Park to view the Lampasas Community Garden. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, community gardens are collaborative projects on open spaces where participants share in the maintenance and products of the garden, which can include healthful fresh fruits and vegetables.

Local DRT chapter celebrates 30-year anniversary

April 13 marked 30 years in existence for the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Oran Milo Roberts Chapter. The Daughters of the Republic of Texas, or DRT, is the oldest patriotic women’s organization in the state and one of the oldest in the nation, following the Daughters of the American Revolution.

‘Good Bull’: Texas A&M historical exhibit premieres Wednesday

Whether one is a fan of Texas A&M University or simply a proud Aggie, Lampasas County Museum has something of interest: the “Hullabaloo, Caneck! Caneck! Lampasas County Aggies” spring exhibit. The display, ranging from historical memorabilia from prominent alumni to modern-day student center items, premieres Wednesday.

Couple celebrates 75 years together

Charles Stillman “Tim” Alderson and Elizabeth Jane (Kirby) Alderson are celebrating their 75th wedding anniversary. They married on April 16, 1946 in San Angelo.
