The Browning Community Garden Club extends congratulations to the top four winners in its annual flower show. Two teachers have been selected to represent Lampasas Independent School District as the Teachers of the Year for 2021. Marley Wiggins, a third-grade teacher at Kline Whitis Elementary School, is the LISD Elementary Teacher of the Year.

Lampasas High School qualifiers for the UIL state meet in speech and academics are Callie Bekker (prose interpretation), Juliana Dwamena (ready writing), Cole Wheeler (informative extemporaneous speaking and current events), Makayla Osburn (alternate in prose interpretation) and Chris Ybarra (alternate in feature writing).

Lometa L-M Garden and Civic Club held its meeting April 19 with an informal garden club flower show and a light meal. The club members provided tasty, finger-type foods.

With the state reopening after the coronavirus pandemic, events are returning to Lampasas, including the Texas 4000 and ATLAS Ride. The Texas 4000 is an annual event for a charity in which cyclists trek from Austin to Anchorage, Alaska.
