Margaret Elizabeth Taylor, 81, of Fort Worth died Jan. 11, 2018 at Renaissance Park Multi Care Center. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 19 at Kempner Cemetery. Sneed Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements. Mrs. Taylor was born Sept. 25, 1936 in Lampasas, the daughter of Ira J. Hart and Elsie (Baird) Hart. She married Charlie Webster Taylor and was a homemaker as well as a member of the Baptist church. She lived in Fort Worth most of her adult life.
Ricky Steven Allen, 58, of Lampasas died Jan. 14, 2018 at Scott & White Continuous Care Hospital. Viewing was held Jan. 18 at Sneed Funeral Chapel. The body will be cremated afterward. Mr. Allen was born July 24, 1959 in Burnet, the son of T.A. Allen and Lorene (Holland) Allen. He was a sheetrock hanger and had lived in Lampasas all his life. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Malea “Bob” Bunnell Hartley, 48, of Gatesville died Jan. 14, 2018 in a Temple hospital. She was born June 29, 1969 in Killeen to Charles Bunnell and Tana (Rainbolt) Bunnell. She graduated from Killeen Baptist Temple with the Class of 1987. After graduation she attended Central Texas College and began working for the Texas Department of Corrections, where she worked for 25 years until retiring in 2014. Mrs. Hartley enjoyed pestering people, riding horses, arts and crafts, spending time with her family, hunting for arrowheads and the outdoors.
David Lloyd Brown, 45, of San Antonio died Jan. 12, 2018 at Sundance Inn Health Center in New Braunfels. Visitation will be Jan. 19 from 10-11:30 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. that day, also at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas. Mr. Brown was born March 20, 1972 in San Antonio, the son of Jim D. Brown and Katherine (Guess) Brown. He graduated from Churchill High School in 1990 and attended Baptist Seminary in Dallas.
Vivian Elizabeth Blackwell, 98, of Belton died Jan. 13, 2018 at Creekside Terrace in Belton. Her body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Killeen on Jan. 20 at 2 p.m. Sneed Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements. Mrs. Blackwell was born Sept. 8, 1919 in Coryell County, the daughter of James Lorenza Gault and Mattie Pearl (Godman) Gault. She finished school in the Elijah Community, and soon after met and married Claud Newton Blackwell. They were married over 60 years when he passed away in 2001.
Raul Ronald Ramirez, 69, of Lampasas died Jan. 14, 2018 at Scott & White Medical Center in Temple. A memorial service is set for Jan. 20 at 11 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas. Mr. Ramirez was born Oct. 16, 1948 in Lampasas, the son of Agapito Ramirez and Connie (Cardona) Ramirez. He was a lifelong resident of Lampasas and a member of the Catholic church. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968-1970 in Germany. He was a welder for Brown and Root, and worked for AMSCO Steel in Lampasas for many years. Mr. Ramirez loved cooking and gardening.
Sandra Lee Friedli, 66, of Lampasas died Jan. 9, 2018 at Metroplex Hospital in Killeen.
Visitation and viewing will be Jan. 20 from 5-7 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be Jan. 21 at 2 p.m., also at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Her body will be cremated after the funeral.
Mrs. Friedli was born March 5, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of John Corbett and Sue (Seid) Corbett. She grew up in Ohio and after high school graduation attended community college.
She worked for the Olympia Public Works Department for several years in operations and management.
James Stanton McMahan, 97 was born April 8, 1920, in Ft. Worth, Texas to David Homer and Clara Mae (Hale) McMahan and passed away January 8, 2018 at the Beehive in Hobbs, New Mexico. A celebrationof Stanton's life was held Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 1:00 MST at the First batist Church, 323 Alameda St, Jal, New Mexico. Interment followed at the Jal Cementery
Kenneth Lee Pavey, 70, of Lampasas died Jan. 5, 2018 at Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.
Visitation and viewing will be Jan. 10 from 4:30- 6:30 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. The body will be cremated after that.
Mr. Pavey was born May 19, 1947 in Lampasas, the son of Jay Kenneth Pavey and Minnie Laura (Welch) Pavey. He was a lifelong resident of Lampasas.
He worked for Brown Feed Store for over 30 years. Mr. Pavey also was a member of the Baptist church and loved visiting with friends.
Sue (Bishop) Vann, 68, of Lampasas died Dec. 14, 2017 at Metroplex Hospital in Killeen. Funeral services were held Dec. 18 at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas, with Darrell Feemster officiating. Burial followed at Naruna Cemetery. Mrs. Vann was born Oct. 25, 1949 in San Antonio, the daughter of Billy Bishop and Peggy (Day) Bishop. She married Kirk Vann on Feb. 10, 1979 in San Antonio. Mrs. Vann worked as a bank teller for many years in Lampasas. She attended New Covenant Church in Lampasas, where she was involved with several children’s ministries.
