UPDATE: At 9:38 a.m. Wednesday, Lampasas police announced they had identified the deceased, and her name and identifying information would be released “pending notification of next of kin,” Chief of Police Sammy Bailey said.
Bailey added that LPD, in conjunction with the Texas Rangers and San Antonio Police Department, continue to conduct the investigation.
EARLIER: Lampasas police are investigating the discovery Tuesday afternoon of the body of an adult female, who was found in the Lampasas Business Park. The business park is on South U.S. Highway 183 in the city limits of Lampasas.
Shortly after 2:50 p.m., the Lampasas Police Department received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the business park, Chief of Police Sammy Bailey said in a news release late Tuesday night.
Upon arrival, officers located an abandoned vehicle unoccupied and found the deceased female in the vicinity, Bailey said.
The woman’s body was sent to Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallay County for an autopsy.
Multiple law enforcement agencies assisted the LPD in the investigation.
