Water tower on Nix Road gets new paint Workers high above the ground add nearly life-size letters of the word “Lampasas” to the city’s water tower off FM 580 West -- also called Nix Road -- last Saturday. The water storage tank has been out of service for a number of weeks, to allow crews time to renovate and repaint the tower. The water tank serves the western portion of the city. The Lampasas Badgers’ “Rockin’ L” logo was applied to the Nix Road water tower last weekend, along with the city’s name underneath it. Workers for several months have been refurbishing the water storage tank, which received a fresh coat of white paint recently. The tank should be back in service around the middle of the month, Water/Wastewater Operations Manager Van Sims said.
