"It was a game of ups and downs," coach Donovan Kleckner siad, "which is to be expected for the first game of the year. After the first quarter the Badgers were up 12-9, but Gateway stormed back early in the second period and took a nine-point lead. The Badgers battled back to close out the second period strong and tie the game at half time 27-27.  We came out firing on all cylinders in the second half, shooting and passing the ball much better and playing better defense. ... The coaches are proud of the effort and hard work the kids have put in so early in the season."
