Lampasas County Sheriff Jess Ramos, in a Facebook post Wednesday night, confirmed that a professional search and rescue team and LCSO employees helped lead several people to safety who had been stranded along the Colorado River.  

Lampasas County Sheriff's Investigators John Seery and Matt Barnes, Detention Officer Brian Pomeroy, Sheriff Ramos and Lampasas County Game Warden Ray Milloway were among those who responded. All adults and their pets who had been stranded there were brought to safety, Ramos reported.

Heavy rain fell across the region this week. According to a Lower Colorado River Authority gauge at Bend, nearly 10 inches of rain fell at that site in a three-day period ending Wednesday.
