Joyce Ann (Bench) Votruba, 66, of Lampasas died March 9, 2020 at Lampasas Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Visitation is March 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the funeral service at 1 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel.
Joyce’s body will be cremated after the service.
She was born May 5, 1953 in Elkton, Maryland to Mervin J. Bench and Eva P. (Gorman) Bench. The family moved to Lampasas in 1963.
Joyce was the oldest of 12 children. She attended Lampasas schools. She trained as a medical assistant and had worked in Georgetown for Drs. Sherman, Mahaffey and Clay-Po. Joyce loved being able to serve others.
She later worked for Lampasas ISD as a bus monitor.
She is survived by two children, Marvin Votruba Jr. and Lacy Perez (Jesus); six grandchildren, Connor, Nando, Tara and Camila Perez, and Zachary and Alexa Votruba; sisters Eva Heighter, Diane Kepler (Jeff), Linda Porter, Debbie Riley, Karen Smith (Gene), Mary Jane Geist and Brandy Powell; brothers Danny Bench (Judy), Kenneth Bench (Jennifer) and Carl D. Bench; 13 nieces, 16 nephews, 20 great-nieces and four great-nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by a brother, Butch Bench.
