Terri Kennedy Young, 62, of Lampasas died Feb. 1, 2019 at Scott & White Medical Center in Temple during chemotherapy for stage 4 lung cancer.
Her body will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Sneed Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.
She was born in Dallas on May 22, 1956 and lived in Wichita Falls most of her life until she moved to Lampasas to join her husband in 1998.
She worked as a registered nurse at Bethania Hospital and at the state mental hospital in Wichita Falls. When she moved to Lampasas she became a stay-at-home mom.
She worked as a substitute teacher and was active in the Young Farmers association, where she held many positions and helped to ensure scholarships were available to local youth.
Terri is survived by her husband, William Young of Lampasas; her children, Robert and Ashley Mills of Lampasas, Amanda Young, David and Kristen Mills of South Korea, Melissa and Chris Moreno of Evant, and Staci and Jonathan Hawkins of Raeford, North Carolina; and nine grandchildren, Kaleigh, Ellie, Jackson, Emeleigh, Madilyn, Wayne, Camben, Austin and Harper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Kennedy in 2000 and Donnah Kennedy in 2009; a sister, Diana Harper in 2018; and by her father-in-law, Lowell Young in 2017.
