Pamela Francine Varney, 83, of Lampasas died Nov. 16, 2019 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.

Funeral service will be Nov. 20 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Lampasas. Burial will follow in Kempner Cemetery.

Visitation will be Nov. 19 from 5-7 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel.

Pam was born Aug. 30, 1936 in Kempner to George Hughes and Saba (Hale) Hughes, along with twin sister Pansy. She grew up in the area and graduated from Lampasas High School.

She met Ronald C. Varney in Lampasas while he was stationed at Camp Hood, and they were married on Feb. 19, 1956.

Pam was a homemaker, and she also had cared for many young children as their babysitter. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Pam is survived by a son, Shane Varney and wife Crystal; two daughters, Sabrina Angermann and husband Tim, and Stacia Smith and husband Stacy; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pansy Urofsky and Quieta Kattner; and a brother, Quentin Hughes and wife Derlice.

Memorials may be sent to the charity of one’s choice.
