Joyce M. Morgan, 83, of Lampasas died March 8, 2019 at a local nursing home.

Funeral service will be March 13 at 10 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Bagdad Cemetery in Leander.

Visitation will be March 12 from 5-7 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel.

Joyce was born Nov. 28, 1935 in Burnet to Charles Montie Dodd and Annie Nora (Newsom) Dodd.

She married David Morgan.

Joyce had lived most of her life in Austin, where she owned and operated a dog training center for many years. She had over 30 years’ experience training and showing dogs. She earned five Obedience Trial Champions and the first Utility Dog Excellence Title in Austin. As an AKC judge, she traveled all over the U.S., judging obedience dog trials.

She was a member of Lampasas Baptist Church.

Joyce is survived by a son, David Morgan Jr.; daughters Patricia Glenn (Ricki) and Bobbie Johnson (Sammy); five grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, one sister and by a granddaughter, Jennifer Johnson.
