Lila V. Goodson, 86, of Lampasas died June 22, 2020 at Bertram Nursing Home.

Graveside funeral service was June 26 at Groves Cemetery. Sneed Funeral Chapel had charge of arrangements.

Lila was born Sept. 1, 1933 at Nix to Clayton Hall and Jewel Ann (Melton) Hall.

She had lived in Washington D.C. as a young woman and worked for a United States senator. She later lived in Japan.

Upon returning to the U.S., she began working at Fort Hood and met Jerry Goodson, whom she later married.

Lila was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution and Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by two sisters, Wanda Monroe of Lampasas and Judy Armstrong of Austin; a grandson, Collin Cooper; and several nieces and nephews.

Lila was preceded in death by her brothers, Andy Hall and Bill “Doc” Melton; her husband, Jerry; and daughter Sarah Goodson Cooper.
