Dorothy M. Garrett, 92, of Lampasas died Jan. 2, 2020 at her home.

Her funeral service was held Jan. 6 at First Baptist Church in Lampasas. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation was Jan. 5 at Sneed Funeral Chapel.

Dorothy was born Sept. 7, 1927 near Cuervo, New Mexico to William Joseph Ferguson and Una Agnes (Thomas) Ferguson.

She had been a resident of the Lampasas community for 52 years.

Dorothy married Maurice Fredrick Garrett, and he preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker, and an abstractor and secretary. Mrs. Garrett was involved in church work at First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School class.

She is survived by children Philip Stephen Garrett (Teresa), Melva D. Garrett-Campbell (Robert D.), Melanie J. Jarboe (Brandtn) and Janie Garrett-Marshall; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her sister Josie Bloodworth; brother Jim Ferguson; three sons, Wayne Weibe, Larry “Levi” Garrett and Jonathan David Garrett; and by her great-greatgranddaughter Addison Phoenix Dowdy.

Memorials may be made to the Lampasas Public Library.
