Mittie Ellen Fields, 91, of Lampasas died Feb. 10, 2019 at her home.

Funeral service will be Feb. 16 at 10 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Feb. 15 from 6-8 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel.

Mittie was born March 29, 1927 in Streetland, Texas to John Bazelton Warren and Eliza Ellen (Brown) Warren.

She married Jasper Mike Fields on Nov. 12, 1946 in El Paso. The family moved to Texas in 1974 and remained in this area ever since.

Mittie was a member of the Baptist church and a life member of Lampasas VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She worked as a bartender, waitress, dispatcher for a cab company, factory worker and a combine driver, all while raising a large family.

She is survived by children Johnny Fields, Elizabeth (Lydie) Hamill, Bettie Fields, Ted Fields, Kenneth and Christy Fields, Nancy Falk, Charlie Fields, Bobby and Maryann Fields, Lynda and Billy Kirkham, Vonnie O’Keefe, and Angela Magilke and husband Conan, all of Lampasas; Debbie Wiles and Greg Gilseth of Kempner, David Fields and Bill Hackey of Longview, Don Fields of Taylor, and Billy and Debbie Fields of Fort Collins, Colorado; and sister Flora Heath and husband Tommy of Joshua, Texas.

Survivors also include 43 grandchildren, 90 greatgrandchildren and 24 greatgreat-grandchildren.

Mittie was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Lawrence Warren and Adrian Warren; five sisters, Ireane Dodson, Jessale Browning, Blanch Brown, Vada White and Laura King; three grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild.
