Dorothy Ann Carroll, 93, died March 10, 2020.

Visitation will be held March 13 from 5-7 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel.

A memorial service will be March 14 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Lampasas.

Dorothy was born April 16, 1926 in Goliad to Eugene A. Perrin and Lois Kathleen (Brigham) Perrin.

She attended school in Goliad and later in Cameron, and after high school graduation earned her Bachelor of Science from The University of Texas and her master’s degree from Texas A&M University.

She married Fred Mitchell Carroll in January 1949.

Dorothy taught school in Lometa, Midland, Cameron, Bryan and Lampasas. Her Pet Show was an event secondgrade students in Lampasas looked forward to each year.

She was a lifelong Methodist church member and sang in the choir for many years, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and was involved in UMW.

Dorothy loved to travel and visited all the states except Hawaii, since they couldn’t get their motor home to float. Fred and Dorothy wintered in the Rio Grande Valley and spent their summers in Colorado.

She was a member of The 36 Club and Lampasas Art Gallery. She also loved gardening.

Dorothy is survived by her son and daughter Stephen M. Carroll, and Priscilla Wright and husband Lowell; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Dr. Robert Wayne Perrin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be sent to First United Methodist Church in Lampasas, Providence Place in San Antonio, St. Jude Foundation or the charity of one’s choice.
