Ida Jean Belyeu of Lometa died in Georgetown at the Wesleyan at Scenic on Aug. 16, 2019 at the age of 93. She had been a resident there for about three and a half years.

Visitation will be at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Aug. 20 from 5-7 p.m.

Graveside services will be held at McDade Cemetery on Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. The Rev. Tim Brewer of Lometa United Methodist Church will preside.

A memorial service at Lometa United Methodist Church will be scheduled at a later date.

Mrs. Belyeu was born to Allen and Perll Reese Joiner in Amarillo on Nov. 28, 1925. She was reared by her grandparents and was educated in Bartlett.

She married Leonard D. Belyeu in Bartlett on Dec. 24, 1943.

She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 32 years and retired in 1983.

She lived in Bartlett, Temple and Belton before moving to Lometa to be closer to family. She was a member of Lometa United Methodist Church and enjoyed music.

Mrs. Belyeu is survived by her brother Bob and wife Amaryllis Joiner of Arkansas; son Wayne and wife Kathy Belyeu of Lometa; a daughter, Brenda and husband Jim Green of Georgetown; 10 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Allen, Reese and Charles Joiner; son Robert “Bobby” Belyeu; her husband; and son Richard “Ricky” Belyeu.

Memorials may be sent to Lometa United Methodist Church.
