E.C. Shroyer, 79, of Lampasas died June 25, 2020 at Arbor House in Marble Falls.

A graveside memorial service was held July 1 at Oak Hill Cemetery. E.C.’s body was to be cremated. Sneed Funeral Chapel had charge of arrangements.

E.C. was born Sept. 12, 1940 in Lampasas to Charles Elza Shroyer and Willie Anna (Schooley) Shroyer.

He graduated from Lampasas High School in 1959. He joined the U.S. Army and after basic training served four years at the Pentagon.

After his military discharge, he went to work for El Paso Natural Gas. His specialty was instrumentation. He eventually worked training staff in North Africa on how to use certain equipment. While living in Algeria, E.C. and his family were given opportunities to travel extensively.

He married Martha Jane Wooten, and she preceded him in death in 1992. In 1995, he retired and moved back to the area and built a home.

E.C. could fix anything and enjoyed helping others. He loved riding motorcycles and working on them.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lampasas.

E.C. and Wanda Cox were married in December 2011 at Cloudcroft, New Mexico.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Cox-Shroyer; daughters Elizabeth Shroyer and Sally Lopez (Miguel); a son, Andrew Shroyer; stepsons Scott Cox (Lesli), Tim Cox (Dana) and Lance Cox (Shirley); five grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; five stepgrandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; and members of the Class of 1959.

E.C. was preceded in death by his half-brother, L.B. Hereford.
