Fredrick L. Schamberger, 73, of Lampasas died Feb. 23, 2018 at Copperas Cove Nursing-Rehab. Visitation will be held March 2 from 6-8 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Graveside funeral services will be March 3 at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. Schamberger, the son of Jesse Schamberger and Eleanor (Johnson) Schamberger, was born Feb. 13, 1945 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He grew up in Wisconsin and after high school graduation joined the army. He served in Panama, Vietnam and Germany. After his military service, Mr. Schamberger went back to school and earned his bachelor’s degree in nutrition science. He spent the remainder of his professional career in food service. His hobby was ceramics. He bought and sold anything related to ceramics. Mr. Schamberger is survived by his wife, Hsiu Chin Schamberger of Lampasas; son, Kenneth Schamberger; and four granddaughters, Steffi, Sierra and Stella Schamberger, and Meagan Nelson. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Susan Schamberger Nelson and Tammy Schamberger.
