Ralph Marez Sr., 65, of Lampasas died on July 20, 2020 at Lampasas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral Mass is July 25 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Sneed Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.

Rosary will be at 6 p.m. July 24, also at St. Mary Catholic Church.

Ralph was born on Oct. 18, 1954 in Lampasas to Trinidad B. Marez and Mary (Lopez) Marez. He grew up in Lampasas and graduated from Lampasas High School in 1972.

Ralph was a hard-core Battlin' Badger fan, one of the guys who stood by the fence at the end zone, never in the stadium. He followed the Badgers every year, knew the players and their stats. He enjoyed watching all types of sports from football and baseball to basketball. He also was an avid fan of Texas sports, but most of all he loved the UT Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys.

When he wasn't watching sports, Ralph enjoyed country cruising with friends and family, playing washers and fishing.

Ralph was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa "Christie" Marez; his parents; sister, Sylvia Morua; and brothers William Navarrete, Steve Marez, Manuel Marez and Thomas Marez.

Survivors include a son, Ralph Marez Jr. (Elma Sanchez) of Lampasas; daughter, Laura Lee Perez (Francisco Perez) of San Antonio; brothers Philip Marez (Ophelia Morua Marez) of Lampasas, Alejandro Marez (Christina Gonzales Marez) of Lampasas and Ricardo Marez (Bernadette Ramirez Marez) of Leander; sisters Eloise Marez Robles (Gilbert Robles) of Burnet, Annabelle Marez Salazar (Ray Salazar) of Lampasas, Josie Garza, and Vera Navarette Garza (Manuel Garza), all of Platteville, Colorado; grandchildren Lillyana Longoria, Timoteo Longoria, Francisco J. Perez of San Antonio and Ralph Marez III of Lampasas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins from California, Colorado, Arizona and various parts of Texas.
