Richard Hightower, 72, of Lometa died June 26, 2018 at Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.
His body will be cremated. Sneed Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.
Richard was born Nov. 12, 1945 in Lampasas to Howard Knox Hightower and Ruby Hazel (Spivey) Hightower.
Richard was drafted after he graduated from Tarleton State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. After two years in the Army he became a teacher and taught school for 31 years.
He married Ginger Wagner in 1971 in Clyde, Texas.
He was a member of the Church of Christ. For the last 10 years, Richard drove the local HOP bus.
He is survived by his wife, Ginger Hightower; two daughters, Crystal Hightower-Hicks and Shannon Ramirez; a granddaughter, Vivian Lenore Ramirez; and two sisters, Mary Marek and Donna Tanner.
