Rudolph Gilbert Gill Sr., 69, of Brandon, Mississippi and formerly of Lampasas, died on Oct. 7, 2020.

Visitation will be Oct. 13 from 6-8 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Oct. 14, with visitation an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.

Rudy was born Aug. 26, 1951 to Gilbert and O’Tomie Gill in Lampasas. He graduated from Lampasas High School and was proud to be a Battlin’ Badger.

After high school, he embarked on a 40-year career in the poultry industry. His passion for the poultry business led him from Lampasas to Fredericksburg, Texas, to Fresno, California, and lastly to Brandon, Mississippi.

In 1995, he founded Gill Enterprises Inc. He was a successful entrepreneur, contracting for Tyson Foods for 25 years.

Rudy enjoyed football and baseball, and he was a passionate fan of Texas A&M, the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. He enjoyed attending games with family and friends anytime he could.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Gill; sons Brandy Shane Gill (Melissa), Rudolph G. Gill Jr. (Rachel) and Raymond Cardenas Jr. (Anitra); daughters Sheena Gill Pace (Jason), Sasha Gill Williamson (Bryan) and Candie Cardenas; and 13 grandchildren.
