Richard Carl “Dick” Clark, 80, of Lampasas died May 23, 2019 after a brief illness.
He was born July 22, 1938 to Leonard and Mary Clark in Liberty, Texas. He lived in Liberty until he joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1955.
He later joined the U.S. Army. He served the country he loved for over 21 years. He retired at Fort Hood on Dec. 31, 1976.
He previously served as the commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars in several states.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and one granddaughter.
He leaves behind his wife, Iwanda Clark of Lampasas; five children, Carla Veborg of Arizona, Anna Sanders of California, Robert Clark of California, Connar Sneed of Texas and Kellie Glover of Texas; his sister, Janet Mangham of Texas; 14 grandchildren; 25 greatgrandchildren; two greatgreat-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8539, 481 North U.S. Highway 183 in Lampasas, on July 6 at 1 p.m.
