Volunteers from Keepin’ It Local, a Lampasas nonprofit, expressed thanks Tuesday to local first responders with a donation from spaghetti dinner proceeds.
Donna Cockrell, founder of Keepin’ It Local, said the $493 raised through the event was intended to “give thanks for all the hard work through the drought and long summer of fires.”
Cockrell presented the funds to Lampasas Fire Department Chief Reece Oestreich and Volunteer Fire Department Asst. Chief and Treasurer Randy Lake on Tuesday morning.
“We served about 100 meals to all of our first responders and were blessed from locals to donate,” Cockrell said.
