Bonding insurance company -- not the county -- will pay for the additional services, county judge says

The Lampasas County Commissioners Court voted unanimously Monday to authorize the architect for the jail construction project to perform additional services needed because of the original general contractor's default.

Travelers Insurance, the bonding insurance company for the jail construction job, will pay for the additional services, County Judge Randy Hoyer said.

In other business at Monday's meeting, the Commissioners Court voted to:

• seek requests for qualifications for regulatory engineering services. The services primarily will relate to subdivision development, Hoyer said.

• pay for a new transmission for the pickup truck Fire Marshal Ronnie Withers uses when investigating fires.
