“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” In the Declaration of Independence, our Founding Fathers asserted that life is an unalienable right, formed in the image of our Creator. I wholeheartedly agree and believe that every child is a gift from God.

During my time in Congress, I have worked to protect the most vulnerable among us, voting at every opportunity to defund Planned Parenthood and prevent taxpayer dollars from being used in the barbaric act of abortion.

Unfortunately, the progress House Republicans have made in recent years has been undone by the House Democrat majority due to their politically-charged abortion agenda – and despite the media fawning over their political stunts, abortion is not healthcare. The lies that advocates and the industry perpetuate harm families and women who are often facing unimaginably difficult circumstances. We must speak truth with compassion and stand firm amidst attacks from those who claim otherwise.

At the March for Life rally on Friday in Washington, D.C., tens of thousands of men and women from all backgrounds across America marched together to affirm the sanctity and dignity of life by speaking up for those who do not have a voice. Their moral courage serves as an inspiration for us to keep fighting for truth because in the end, we believe that life will win.

The annual march also marked an historic day as President Trump became the first sitting president to address the rally. In the last three years, he has appointed pro-life judges across the nation, stopped our tax dollars from funding abortion overseas, and permitted states to defund Planned Parenthood of Title X family planning funds. President Trump has done more to protect life than any other Republican president in recent history, and for that I am grateful.

While we face an uphill battle on Capitol Hill, I am given hope by our president and those rising up in our communities to join the fight for life, and I am proud to stand with them in their unwavering efforts.
