The First United Methodist Church will host the 70th Annual Christmas Cantata on Sunday at 5 p.m.
The volunteer community choir will perform several choral anthems, accompanied by a string quartet, and several bell pieces.
“In between all the songs, there will be a narration that is a retelling of the Christmas story,” said choral director Jeremy Knight said.
The cantata will feature twists on old Christmas favorites, as well as advanced pieces by well-known composers such as John Rutter.
Following the cantata, a live nativity scene will be performed on church grounds and a Taste of Christmas will be held in the church fellowship hall.
An array of food and beverages will be provided, and professional child care will be available, officials said. The event is free of charge.
