Although they play for colleges hundreds of miles apart, former Badger baseball teammates Garrett Witcher and Hunter Rebando are back in the same line-up this summer. Witcher, a 2017 LHS graduate, and Rebando (LHS Class of 2020) play for Austin Cazadores Beisbol in the 5 Tool Collegiate League.

LHS closes summer league with wins over Mustangs,’Jackets

The Badgers won the last two games of their summer basketball league at home. They claimed the league title after tying Llano at 7-1 and winning the point differential in head-to-head match-ups with the Jackets.

Steffin McCarter, a 2015 graduate of Lampasas High School, qualified for the Tokyo Olympics with a career-best jump of 8.26 meters, (27 feet, 1.25 inches) on Sunday.

McCarter’s Olympic fate to be decided this week in Oregon

Steffin McCarter can qualify for this year’s Olympics in Tokyo with a top-three finish at the Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon. The men’s long jump qualifying round starts at 3:30 p.m. Central Time (1:30 p.m. Pacific) on June 25. The finals are at 5:45 p.m. Central on June 27.
