The Badgers got back to their winning ways in a dominant fashion when they traveled to Austin to take on the Northeast Early College High School Raiders. The final score was 48-0, and most of the damage was done in the first half. The Badgers scored early and often.

Hornets win a shootout, move to 1-1 on the year

Lucas Smailus-Cruz was on a mission Friday night. He found the endzone for all six of Lometa’s touchdowns, as the Hornets beat the Blum Bobcats 44-38. Cruz, a sophomore, had four rushing touchdowns, two receiving touchdowns and 288 yards for the Hornets.

Lampasas closed out a three-game homestand when it hosted the Academy Lady Bees last Friday. The Lady Badgers came up short after taking the first set, then losing the next three. Scores were 25-20, 9-25, 16-25, 20-25. The loss took Lampasas’ overall record to 10-11.

The Lady Badgers hosted the Florence Lady Buffaloes last Friday and then the Shoemaker Lady Grey Wolves on Tuesday. Each of the matches was decided in straight sets. Lampasas beat Florence 25-15, 25-4, 25-16 and then lost to Shoemaker on Tuesday by scores of 18-25, 12-25, 13-25.
