Olympic qualifier attributes success to coaches and growing group of supporters

    Two days after advancing to the Olympics with a bronze medal in the Olympic Trials, the accomplishment still hadn’t fully sunk in for Steffin McCarter.

    But part of his approach to big meets is not to get caught up in the hype.

    “I honestly think that for the Trials, one of the key things for me was actually not think of it as a bigger meet,” the 2015 Lampasas High School grad said. At other meets, “I…
