Glenda Jo Shoemaker, an adored matriarch in her family, was born on Nov. 27, 1951, in Burnet. She died peacefully on June 27, 2025, in Killeen.
Primarily known as a homemaker, Glenda’s nurturing spirit extended beyond the walls of her home to her cherished ranch, where she found joy in caring for her chickens and cows. Her passion for rural life reflected her deep appreciation for nature and the simple joys it brings. Glenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who created a warm and supportive environment for her family.
She shared a marriage of 53 years with her husband, Glenn. Together, they built a life rich in love and companionship.
Glenda is remembered by her grandchildren Aurora Carter and fiancé Joseph Flores, Ryleigh Carter, Kinsleigh Delgado, Xander Delgado and Zeke Delgado. She also delighted in her great-grandchild, Opal Flores.
Glenda was preceded in death by her daughter, Lanie Delgado. She is survived by her cousins Roger and Susan Shugart, and Bobby Shoemaker and Marion Shoemaker.
Glenda’s love and dedication to her family have left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel and Cremations in Lampasas on July 3 from 6-8 p.m.
A graveside service will take place on July 5 at 10 a.m. at Kempner City Cemetery.
