Mrs. Marilynn “Gail” Odom-Cox was born July 4, 1952, in Clarksville, Tennessee, to Evalyn Edwina Barefoot Odom and Robert Michael Odom.
She married James C. Cox on Sept. 18, 1994, in Lometa, Texas.
Gail was an EMT for over 15 years. She loved by her husband of 30 years, and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She loved her Cujo and Buttons. She loved painting for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved sitting and listening to music and watching westerns.
She is survived by her husband James C. Cox of Copperas Cove; her sister, Kathy Kalmbach of Georgetown; her brother, Robert Odom of Lometa; niece, Shawnee Martinez of Goldthwaite; children Cyndi Sims of Lometa, Richard and Lynn Mitchell of Madison, Alabama, Chandra and Robert Spitzer of Copperas Cove, Robert Pettigrew and Shawnda Chain of Pearland; stepchildren Tonya Johnson of Copperas Cove, and James and Lois Cox of Georgetown.
Gail had 26 grandchildren, Skyler Buteaux, Ashley LaCaze, Sonia Edmondson, Dakota Hand, Dillon Sims, Magan Westbrook, Katie LeBlanc, Zandra Mitchell, Kyle Winstead, Bryan Winstead, Alexis Walle, Madisyn Walle, Avery Mitchell, Jonathan Spitzer, Samantha Spitzer, Joshua Spitzer, Veronica Hood, Romella Spitzer, Noah Spitzer, Dakota Bannister, Mckenize Pettigrew, Kendall Pettigrew, Mateo Chain, Evan Chain, Gracelynn Pettigrew, Diane Harvill and Raymond Wallace; and 25 greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ramona Pacheco; granddaughter, Melanie Pacheco, in December 2004; son-in-law Scott Sims in January 2022.
