Doris R. Mouser, 93, died on May 13, 2024, at Copperas Cove Nursing and Rehab.
Graveside services will be held at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery on July 12 at 10 a.m. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.
Doris was born on Oct. 11, 1930, in Manor to Henry R. and Georgia (Cameron) Hickman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Mouser; daughter, Candy Lindsey (Clinton); siblings Jane, David, Florene, Lorene and Henrietta; as well as her daughter-in-law, Debby.
For most of her life she worked as a waitress in Austin. She retired at the age of 75 to care for her mother and husband.
Her hobbies included gardening, dog breeding and shopping. She also loved sharing her special recipes and always made delicious food. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her daughters Debra Scott (Warren) and Barbara Varnadore; sons Roy E. Trantham Jr. and Rusty Trantham (Pam); sister, June Jenson; grandchildren Troy “Lane” Tuggle Jr., Warren “Conrad” Scott (Colleen), Brandon J. Scott, Charles F. Dodson (Shayla), Dawn Guerra (John), Millie Thompson, Brandy Bargsley (Austin), Tracy Gant (Josh), Austin Bell (Brandy) and Brandon Floyd; great-grandchildren Emma Miller, Cash “Cowboy” Scott, Keyonna Dodson, Ashley Guerra (Jimmy), Amber Guerra (Eon), Breanna Mainard, Brittney Mainard, Krystal Barns (Ryan) and Chris Lowery; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and all those who knew her as “Nanny.”
