Loretta Tittle Lindsey died on Sept. 2, 2024, at Lily Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation in Lampasas.

Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Sept. 6 from 6-8 p.m.

Services will be held on Sept. 7, also at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel, 2 p.m., with burial to follow at Smith Cemetery in Kempner.

Loretta was born on Oct. 18, 1937, in Lampasas to Bill and Ora Tittle.

She grew up in Lampasas and graduated from Lampasas High School.

She worked for the Department of Public Safety in Austin for many years and retired there as a data entry clerk.

In later years, she worked for The Village in Lampasas, until her eyesight deteriorated from macular degeneration.

Loretta married Vernon Monroe Lindsey on Sept. 13, 1957 in Lampasas. They traveled around for many years as Vernon followed construction work.

After they retired, they moved from Leander to the Colorado River at Bend. Loretta and Vernon were married until he died in 2021.

Loretta also was preceded in death by her son, Alvin Lindsey; daughter, Lisa Bonnett; sister, Billye Dale Nobles; brother-in-law, Jack Nobles; and a nephew, Paul Nobles.

Survivors include her daughter, Tammie Lindsey of Lampasas; grandsons Bobby Clopton, Trey Clopton, Cody Bolt, Joshua Bolt and Hyatt Bolt; granddaughters Meloni Stendebach, Jessica Bonnett, Cassie Payne, Michelle Galvan and Erica Nastasi and their families; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her nephew, Robert Dale Nobles; and many other relatives.

The family requested memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
