Mrs. Kirk

Carrie Jo Michele Kirk, 51, of Lampasas, died on Sept. 14, 2025.

Born on June 4, 1974, at Rollins Brook Hospital in Lampasas, Carrie was the daughter of John and Glenna Bowden.

She grew up in Lampasas and graduated with the Lampasas High School Class of 1992.

Carrie earned a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from Harding University in 1996 and later received her MBA in accounting from Colorado Technical University in 2009.

Carrie was known for her creativity and deep devotion to her family. After college, she became a second-grade teacher and later taught music at Kline Whitis Elementary School. She embraced life with enthusiasm, enjoyed scrapbooking cherished memories, baking her famous “Treats by Carrie” cookies and cuddling her beloved dogs Roxxy and Queenie.

Carrie also touched countless students and families with her warmth and kindness during her years as a school bus driver with Lampasas ISD. She loved the ocean, whether walking along the beach or setting sail on cruises, and supported her children as a devoted band mom. Above all, she treasured time with her granddaughter, Stacy, whose FaceTime calls always brightened her days.

Carrie was preceded in death by her husband, Stacy Kirk; her parents, John and Glenna Bowden; and her grandparents, Ward and Joda Bowden, and William and Carrie Blanche Fillpot.

She is survived by her children Hannah Kirk, Thomas Kirk and Emma Kirk; granddaughter, Stacy Reges; and her siblings Kay and husband Steve Killpatrick, Eddie and wife Debby Bowden, and Terry and wife Leann Bowden.

A graveside service at Dobyville Cemetery in Burnet County will be announced once confirmed on the Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel website and Facebook page.
