Timothy DeWayne Walker, 80, died on Aug. 7, 2025, on his land in Kempner.
Services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Aug. 12 at 11 a.m., with visitation an hour prior.
Tim was born on Dec. 19, 1944, in Lampasas to Clarence W. Walker and Modie Estelle Trousdale Walker. He grew up in Lampasas and graduated from Lampasas High School in 1963.
After high school, he attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, where he received his associate and bachelor’s degrees in agriculture.
Tim married Carolyn Sue Brandt in 1969 in Coleman. They were married for 56 years.
Tim participated in local rodeos where he rode bareback. He enjoyed going dancing with Sue at Mingus in Mineral Wells, catching bullfrogs in the Bosque River, and having chickenfried steak at Jack and Dorothy’s. He often worked with welding in order to be able to afford tuition.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Vivan Walker, and his daughter, Amy Walker.
Tim is survived by his spouse, Sue Walker of Kempner; son, Shannon Walker and wife Rilla of Richmond; daughter, Angela Marez and husband Alejandro Marez Jr. of Kempner; grandchildren Alisha Walker and husband Andrew Gilbert of Kempner, Waylon Bartholomew Sr. of Richmond, Hanna Bartholomew of Houston, Bryton Walker of Kempner, Ajay and Ace Marez of Kempner, Waylon Bartholomew Jr. of Richmond and Alexander Bartholomew of Richmond; and a great-granddaughter, Blair Gilbert of Kempner.
