Chip Purcell, 36, of Copperas Cove, died after an accident in Lampasas on Sept. 24, 2024.
Chip was born on Dec. 1, 1987, in Houston to Jackie Purcell II and Pam Badgett Purcell.
He graduated from Marble Falls High School.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for six years and settled in Copperas Cove. Chip was employed by Lampasas Building Components.
There was never a more avid sports fan than Chip. He played baseball and loved the sport. He especially loved the Dallas Cowboys, Texas A&M Aggies and Houston Astros.
Chip was preceded in death by his grandparents Jack L. and Shirley A. Purcell.
He is survived by his father, Jackie Purcell; his mother, Pam Hardy; sisters Courtney Purcell and Rossi Armstrong; nieces Kiana Evans, Jacqueline Smith, Lanie and Kenley Armstrong; a nephew, Elyjah Purcell; longtime girlfriend, Vicki Ellis; and his special “Mom,” Donna Holland Wilcox.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas has charge of arrangements.
