Glenn Edward Linville, 74, of Lampasas, died on April 6, 2024.

Services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on April 11 at 2 p.m., with visitation an hour prior.

Glenn was born on Jan. 3, 1950, in Gatesville, the second of five children of Edna Lucille (Linville) Chambers. He and his siblings grew up in Lampasas with his mother and his stepfather, L.D. Chambers.

After graduating from high school, Glenn and two classmates enlisted in the Army. He served one tour of duty in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star medal. He returned to Lampasas after being honorably discharged and then was active in the National Guard Reserve for several years.

Glenn was active in commercial and residential remodeling, doing drywall installation as well as interior and exterior painting.

He and Elke, the love of his life, enjoyed traveling together, whether by car, plane, cruise ship or train. The two also enjoyed planting a garden, raising a few chickens and spoiling their dog. They loved attending gatherings with friends and family, and hosting gatherings at their home as well. Glenn would entertain with stories that would make people laugh. He made friends wherever he went and likely knew everyone in town. Glenn and Elke enjoyed attending the many sports events, proms, graduations and special events of their blended family.

Glenn is survived by Elke White; his brother, Jerry Wayne Linville and wife Debby; his sister, Pam Carpenter and husband Mike; his son, Kevin Lee Linville, and wife Becky; his daughters Amanda Jo Linville, Peggy Myers and husband Jeff, and Angela Woolard and husband Bradley; stepdaughter, Heather Wiggins and husband David; grandchildren Sarah White, Makayla Eckert, Marley Johnson, Kaity Myers, Colton Woolard, Laine Wiggins, Kasey Woolard, Joshua Ritter, Hailey Linville, Colton Linville, Madi Linville, Janie Resa and Jacie Resa; six great-grandchildren; five nieces; and many great-nieces and greatnephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister Patsy Ann Henderson, and brother David Allen Linville and son, Lesley O.F. White.
