Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Nov. 22. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.

Andy was born on Nov. 23, 1971 in Hamlin to Andrew and Ernestine (Seballos) Garcia.

He grew up in Lampasas and graduated from Lampasas High School in 1990. During his high school years, he was a member of the band and played football and baseball for the Badgers. He also was chosen to be a Texas Boys State delegate.

After high school, Andy attended The University of Texas at Austin College of Engineering.

He worked for Guyco Construction for four years, then moved to the state of Washington with Rex K Johnson Construction for two years.

Andy returned to Texas and worked for the Texas Department of Transportation in Lampasas for eight years and later transferred to Austin TxDOT to work as a carpenter in the wood shop for four years. After leaving TxDOT, he was a self-employed carpenter for 15 years. This year, Andy was proud to join the carpentry department at The University of Texas at Austin.

Andy’s proudest accomplishment was his three children, Tyler, Dylan and Noah.

Andy was what he would call “a jack of all trades and a master of none.” He was an adventurous, brilliant and hilarious guy. He spent his time in Lampasas among friends, becoming an athlete, a top student and an avid outdoorsman. Using his carpentry skills, he could build, fix and create anything, and he knew how to renovate and repair or improve anything. Andy shared his love for woodworking and the outdoors with his sons, especially Tyler. He spent many long days on the Lampasas River fishing with his boys, one of his greatest joys in life.

He also loved music. Besides being in the Badger Band, he was a self-taught guitar player. He joined the Buzz Hicks Band as a guitarist and vocalist. Performing with the band was a dream realized for him.

He was preceded in death by his son Tyler Andrew Garcia and all of his grandparents.

Andy is survived by his sons Dylan Garcia of Hockley, and Noah Garcia of Lampasas; parents Ernestine Garcia, Andrew Garcia Jr. and Ruth Garcia, all of Lampasas; siblings Marisol Garcia of Georgetown, and Cameron Garcia (Kiana) of Denton; nieces Dorian Daugherty, Gabriella Daugherty, Kloe Garcia, Ivy Garcia; and many extended family members.
