Lee was born on Jan. 29, 1965, in Temple to T.R. and Novella (Shugart) Carson.
He grew up in Copperas Cove until he was in the fifth grade, when the family moved to Lampasas. He graduated from Lampasas High School in 1984.
After high school, Lee worked for the Wagon Wheel Ranch for 17 years and then worked for the G Bar M Ranch in Briggs for more than 20 years.
Lee married Tulisha (Brown) in 1984, and they had three children together. Later in life, Lee found his soulmate, Tina Butler, and they shared over 10 years of life together.
Lee was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church as well as Maxdale Cowboy Church.
He had a passion for agriculture and tending to livestock, and had a gift in his ability to understand animals. He was a true cowboy and loved working with and riding horses and doing all things outdoors.
He was a loving father, grandfather (“Bebo”) and a friend to all. He was the man to call when you needed help, and he never hesitated to lend a helping hand. He loved the Lord, and his smile and contagious kindness were matched by none.

He is survived by his soulmate, Tina Butler of Belton; son, Travis Carson (Chelsea) of Marble Falls; daughter, Abbie (Caul) Smith of Lampasas; brothers Harlan (Sharon) Carson of Buna, and Randall (Annette) Carson of Tatum; grandchildren Tate Remington Carson (14) and Ivan Lee Smith (2); and many nieces and nephews.
