Jerry L. Blakley, 76, of Izoro died June 3, 2024, at AdventHealth Central Texas hospital in Killeen.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. June 6 at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas. Burial followed at Hillsdale Cemetery near Izoro.
Jerry was born June 19, 1947, at the old homeplace in Izoro to Irvin L. Blakley and Florene (Rogers) Blakley.
After high school graduation Jerry went to work. In 1979, he started working for Guyler Company and stayed with them until the company became known as Guyco. He retired in 2013 as superintendent.
Jerry always enjoyed farming and ranching, and after retirment he began doing that full time with his sons. He loved attending auctions and most times would come home with something.
He married Debbie Harkey on Sept. 12, 1985.
Jerry was raised in the Catholic church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Roger Blakley and Mary Brewer.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Blakley; brother, Sandy Blakley and wife Jo; sons Evan Blakley and wife Sarah, and Randy Thorp and wife Joni; grandchildren Isiah Thorp and wife Bethany, Chloe Thorp, Randon Thorp, Maya Kriegel and Everett Blakley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
