Victorío Araiza Bárcenas, 67, of Lampasas, died peacefully at his home on July 24, 2025.
He was born on Jan. 12, 1958, in Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, Mexico to the late Antonio Araiza and Eustacia Araiza Bárcenas.
Victorío had made Lampasas his home since 1992.
Victorío worked as a residential painter for Sixto Rocha for over 15 years. He was known for his quiet sense of humor, his love of family and his enjoyment of simple pleasures — buying and winning scratch-offs, hanging out with family, and playing with his nieces and nephews.
He was a devoted Catholic. Victorío was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Eustacia Araiza Bárcenas; his brother, Nicanor Araiza; and his sister, Juana Araiza.
He is survived by his brothers Javier Araiza, Adolfo Araiza, Juan Araiza, Carmen Araiza, Antonio Araiza and Rogelio Araiza; his sisters Amalia Araiza, Esther Araiza Ramirez, Asención Araiza, and Veronica Araiza Gutierrez; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Aug. 1 at Heritage Funeral Home of Lampasas, with the Rosary beginning at 6 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon on Aug. 2 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lampasas, with Father Antony to officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
