Robert “Butch” Stewart, 79, died on March 25, 2023, in Lampasas.
Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church in Lampasas on April 1 at 3 p.m., with visitation from 2-3 p.m. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.
Butch was born in Bell County to Paul F. Stewart and Ethel Faye Ballenger Stewart on Jan. 18, 1944.
When he was younger, he worked on a lot of ranches and as a mechanic. Then he was the manager at the local Dodge dealership before going into business for himself when he opened Stewart Sales. He did that until retirement.
He was an avid hunter and fisher, loved to dance, and loved to host parties at his house where many wellknown musicians joined in. He was known to open his house for people who needed a place to stay.
Butch was a big supporter of the community and was willing to help in any capacity. He also was set in his ways, stern and was not afraid to speak his mind on what he believed. Above all, Butch was a Christian and tried his best to live a Christian life.
He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and teaching them the values of life and how to hunt and fish.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; his daughter, Jana Jackson; his brother, Kennith Stewart; and his brothers-in-law Larry Ellis and Clark Dellis.
Survivors include his daughters Kerinda Chaudoin-Turner and husband David, Kim Diaz and husband Rick, and Savannah Best; brothers Bert Stewart and wife Kay, Gene Stewart and wife Sylvia, Gary Stewart and wife Jamie, and Ronny Stewart and wife Janet; sisters Shirley Ellis, Debbie May and husband Carl, and Linda Dellis; sisterin-law, Patsy Stewart; grandchildren Betty Kaye Chaudoin, James Rushton, Shayla Jackson, Kayla Arnold, Justin Turner, Katherine Diaz, Josh Diaz, Harley Rose and Laramie Sage; and greatgrandchildren Aurelia, Adelheid, Kat, Cloey, Zoey, Aaron, Wyatt Wylie and Brandon James.
