Ricky J. Ivie, 71, died on Oct. 24, 2022, at his home in Lampasas.
A memorial service will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Nov. 5 at 2 p.m., with burial to follow at Kempner City Cemetery.
Ricky was born on June 23, 1951, in Painesville, Ohio to JR and Wilma (Litty) Ivie.
He grew up in Caledonia, Missouri, and graduated from Valley R-6 High School in Caledonia.
After high school, Ricky joined the U.S. Army on June 15, 1971, and served for two years during the Vietnam era. He was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal.
He began work in the autobody trade where he worked for 30 years. In 1998, he started working in the insurance adjusting field and did catastrophe claims for Schafer-Wood and associates for 18-plus years.
Ricky married Gabriele in 1973 in Caledonia, Missouri, and they were married for 49 years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing, spending time with his grandkids and watching golf on TV.
Rick is survived by his spouse, Gabi of Lampasas; his children, daughter Kellie and Flint Hughes of Kempner, son Jon and Brooke Ivie of Rio Medina, son Josh and Logan Ivie of Lubbock, and his daughter Joleen and Shannon Peppers of Gadsen, Alabama; grandchildren Riggen Hughes, Rowdy Hughes, Ridge Hughes, Jonathon Ivie, Maxwell Ivie, and Asher, Charlie Girl and Ammon Peppers.
