Ernest Brewer Jr., 84, of Izoro, died Oct. 13, 2022 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.
Rosary was recited Oct. 17 at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel, followed by visitation.
Mass of Christian burial will be held Oct. 18 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillsdale Cemetery near Izoro. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.
Ernest was born on April 2, 1938 on the Leon River to Ernest Brewer Sr. and Nannie Lee.
He married Mary Irvilene Blakley on March 21, 1959, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lampasas.
Ernest was a veteran, carpenter, rancher and outdoorsman. He loved tending to his children and grandchildren. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Teresa Swift, and husband, Russell; son, Stephen Leslie Brewer, and wife, Donna; grandchildren James Swift and wife Melissa, Jerrod Swift and wife Cheyenne, Marshal Brewer and wife Haylee, Joshua Brewer and wife Brittany, Melissa Brewer, and Jason Booth; great-grandchildren Blake, Riley, Baylee, Bentley, Jade, Jovi, Brayden, Brooklyn, Hunter, Avva, Jaylee and Abby; and sisters Louise Parr and husband James, Ann Wilson, and Jan Paul and husband Bill.
Ernest was preceded in death by his wife on June 27, 2016; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Swift; greatgranddaughter, Kenzie; sisters Ofell Hill and Janie Parsons; and a brother, Elmer Brewer.
