Michael Lee Jones, 49, died on Sept. 25, 2022, in Torrance, California.

Services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Oct. 15 at 11 a.m., with a visitation an hour prior. Interment will follow at Rock Church Cemetery in Rumley.

Michael was born on Jan. 21, 1973, in Wiesbaden, Germany to Roy Jones and Ute (Shonburger) Richardson.

Michael grew up in Copperas Cove, and he graduated from Copperas Cove High School in 1991.

After high school, he joined the Army in 1991 and served for six years.

He was discharged in 1997, after achieving the rank of sergeant.

He spent the next 20 years in the medical field working as a medical assistant, healthcare administrator and even co-owning a chiropractic practice. During this time, he attended Ashford University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration in 2016.

In 2017, Michael began his career in education. He served as a director of career services and, ultimately, as campus director at a technical college.

Michael married Isabel in 1991 in Copperas Cove, and they were married for 30 years and shared three children.

He enjoyed golf, Dallas Cowboys football and grilling, but most of all he loved being surrounded by his family. He was happiest when he was feeding anyone and everyone.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Jones, Ute Richardson and stepfather WC Richardson.

Survivors include his wife, Isabel of Lampasas; daughters Mariah Jones-Clark of Lampasas and Breanna (Kacey) Tucker of Lampasas; son, Anthony Jones of Lampasas; grandchildren Kinsley Clark and Jaxon Tucker; sisters Stefanie (Mike) Nott, Trisha (Scott) Ulch and Gina (Helmut) Narr; brothers Terry Knese and Eric (Tammy) Jones; brother-in-law, Rene Garza; nieces Paige Jones and Gabriella Garza; and nephews Eric Jones, Andrew Jones, Joshua Brown and Eric Nott.
