Jeffrey J. McMurtry, 62, of Kempner died at his home on July 31, 2022.
He was born on Sept. 23, 1959 in Minnesota to James and Ellen McMurtry.
Mr. McMurtry had lived in Kempner since 2011, moving there from Boerne.
He and Patricia were married on June 18, 1988, in Colorado.
He retired from the United States Army in 2018. Jeff had served one tour of duty in Iraq and one in Afghanistan, as an RN in the trauma unit, treating many burn victims. He treated civilians as well as enlisted patients. Jeff loved being an RN and helping othersin that capacity.
The funeral with military honors for Mr. McMurtry will be at Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Heritage Funeral Homes in Lampasas has charge of arrangements.
