Peggy Ann Shroyer, 87, died on July 18, 2022, at her home in Lampasas.
A private service will be held on Aug. 12 at 5:30 p.m. A livestream will be available on the Livingway Family Church YouTube page. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.
Peggy was born on Aug. 13, 1934 in Lindale to Granville and Evelyn Carroll, and she grew up in Corsicana.
She was a graduate of Corsicana High School and Navarro Junior College, where she met her husband, Roy Shroyer. Peggy also attended Baylor University and North Texas State College.
Her professional career included working for Texas State Teachers Association, teaching kindergarten, working with her husband at Texas Video Sales Inc. and teaching piano.
Peggy married Roy Shroyer on Sept. 2, 1954, and they were married for 61 years.
She was an active online member of Livingway Family Church, had a longtime love for music and enjoyed playing piano at various churches, as well as teaching piano to hundreds over her lifetime.
Peggy shared her cooking and baking skills, sending care packages of her baked goods, as well as sharing family dinner favorites. She also was a tech-savvy communicator, navigating her way through Facebook and Instagram, watching people’s posts and stories, often sending words of encouragement. She was a true optimist and a prayer warrior.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Roy, and by a great-grandson, Christopher Milo Moore.
She is survived by her brothers Reggie Carroll (Phyllis) and Eddie Carroll; children Steven Shroyer (Julie), Ronny Shroyer (Delanie), Brad Shroyer and Anne Moore (Bill); and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
