Darlene Patterson-Ray died on July 19, 2022, at AdventHealth Rollins Brook in Lampasas.
Darlene was born July 23, 1937 in Burnet to Jim and Mabel (Hines) McGuire.
She was married to Leslie Patterson until his death. She remarried in 1993 to Howard Ray.
Darlene held many vocations in her life. She was a waitress through most of her younger years. She also was an entrepreneur. She owned her own beauty salon and a thrift store/consignment shop in Lampasas. She also sold Tupperware and Avon products. She worked as a home health aide.
She was known for her peanut brittle. Many will recall she gave food demonstrations at HEB, but she felt her greatest accomplishment was her family.
She was a member of the Pentecostal faith.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband Leslie and husband Howard; her sons Ronnie Patterson and Walter Patterson; three grandchildren, Leslie Cisneros, Will Price and Avery Shirhall; and by siblings Vivian, Shirley, James and Morris.
She is survived by her children Bobby Patterson, Jerry Patterson, Beverly (Frank) Silliman, Brenda (Joel) Schoepf, and Linda (Johnnie) McGehee; 23 grandchildren and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; sisters Laverne, Susie and Betty; and one brother, Jimmy.
Visitation will be held July 22 from 6-7 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home.
Services for Darlene will be July 23 at 10 a.m., also at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery. A livestream will be available at www. heritagefuneraltx.com for those unable to attend.
